The Big Hearted Mavericks Society raises funds through our events, sponsorships, and community support. Every dollar raised for charity is transferred directly to the Big Hearted Mavericks Foundation, a registered charitable organization that evaluates funding applications and distributes resources to children-focused programs across Calgary.
This model ensures complete transparency, low administrative overhead, and the highest possible impact for the families and organizations we support.

The Role of the Foundation
The Big Hearted Mavericks focus on building lasting relationships with trusted organizations that are deeply embedded in the Calgary community. Rather than short-term or one-off contributions, we prioritize programs with strong leadership, clear accountability, and a proven ability to create real change over time.
This long-term approach allows our partners to plan with confidence, scale their impact, and deliver meaningful support to children and families year after year — without unnecessary administrative burden or uncertainty.
All funds raised through dedicated charity events go only to charitable purposes.
(Examples: Charity golf tournament, Western Night, community events.)
All Society operating costs — including chuckwagon expenses — are funded solely by member fees and the sale of barn nights.
This ensures donor dollars are never diluted.
All charitable proceeds are transferred to and distributed by the Big Hearted Mavericks Foundation, ensuring transparent stewardship and maximum impact.
Each organization we fund is carefully evaluated by the Foundation through a structured application process. This ensures contributions go toward programs that align with our mission and create meaningful, measurable impact.
All donations are securely processed through the Big Hearted Mavericks Foundation.
We’re here to answer any questions about how our giving model works and how your support flows through the Foundation to make an impact.
